Electric vehicles are taking off, and the new Administration intends to help them along through incentive programs and federal procurement of a fleet of EVs. EVs provide tremendous opportunities, but they also pose their own challenges and legal risks. Crowell & Moring is happy to announce a webinar series dedicated to issues related to electric vehicles, both for manufacturers and purchasers.  We will cover everything from manufacturing EVs, to developing the charging station infrastructure, to considerations of the source of the electricity for those charging stations and how that impacts EV “fuel economy,” to reclamation and recycling of EV batteries.

Our first webinar will focus on the environmental issues surrounding EVs.  Our team of experienced practitioners will explore the following areas:

  • How an EV works, including operating and manufacturing;
  • The environmental rules and regulations that are relevant in the EV space;
  • The challenges we face in making the transition to EVs, such as the need for an expanded charging network;
  • The environmental implications of transitioning both public and private vehicles to EVs;
  • The opportunities and risks associated with production and use of EVs.
