Evi Mattioli is an associate at Crowell & Moring’s Brussels office. She is part of the Antitrust Group and focuses on competition, telecommunications, and media. Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Evi gained experience working at the EU competition practice of two international law firms, where she advised various national and international companies.

Evi has assisted with the representation of clients in a number of national and EU antitrust investigations (covering, for example, anti-competitive agreements and abuse of dominance), and in state aid cases. She has worked for major clients in the automobile and life sciences sectors, as well as high-tech and network industries, such as telecommunications and postal services.

Evi obtained her first law degree at the University of Maastricht and her Belgian law degree on passing the Belgian professional competence state examination. She obtained an LL.M. in law and economics from the Università di Bologna and a Ph.D. at the KU Leuven.

Evi continues to be active at an academic level. She has written a doctoral dissertation on commitments and settlements in EU and national competition law and has been an affiliated researcher at the Liège Competition and Innovation Institute. She is the author of various law review articles, co-author of a book on Belgian competition law, and has been asked to speak at international conventions.
