Hilary Johnson is a counsel in the Mass Tort, Product, and Consumer Litigation Group in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office. Hilary focuses her practice on defending medical device and pharmaceutical industry clients from products liability litigation. Her practice spans a wide array of products liability matters in state and federal courts across the county, from individual claims to multidistrict or multijurisdictional litigation. Clients include entities at all levels of the distribution chain: product manufactures, designers, distributors, and retailers. Hilary also counsels clients on U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory compliance and enforcement matters.
Hilary’s recent experience includes:
- Defending a multinational medical device company in mass tort litigation pending in numerous state and federal courts.
- Defending the entire docket of medical device and pharmaceutical product liability litigation for a global health care services company.
In addition, Hilary has an active pro bono practice focused on representing individuals seeking Social Security Disability benefits.
Hilary graduated from Northwestern University in 2009 with a B.A. in psychology. She earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2015. Before joining Crowell & Moring, Hilary clerked at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, Office of Special Masters, which adjudicates National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program claims.
