Janet Walker is a senior counsel in the Washington D.C. office and member of the Health Care Group. She has a deep understanding of federal and state healthcare law and policy as it relates to value-based care and population health initiatives.

Janet has years of experience working for large health systems, namely focusing on payers, managed care, and value-based care. In that capacity, she has advised on both strategic direction and legal requirements related to Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), health plan operations, Bundled Payment Initiatives, Medicare Advantage, and Direct to Employer Contracting, to name a few. Janet has experience working with insurance departments in Texas, Tennessee, Michigan, and Kansas on several issues, including determining whether new payment models need to be regulated as the business of insurance. Janet’s experience also includes handling complex, regulated entity transactions in the wake of increased value-based care joint ventures. Lastly, Janet has extensive experience advising managed care and insurance entities facing challenges from state and federal administrative agencies.
