Jonathan M. Lindsay services the patent-related legal needs of high-tech clients in a wide range of industries, including computer software and hardware, medical devices, wireless communications and electrical and electromechanical arts. His broad practice emphasizes strategic patent prosecution, contentious post grant and reissue work, due diligence and freedom-to-operate investigations, and patent-related opinion work. Jonathan also regularly advises companies on IP protection and litigation strategies relating to autonomous vehicles, internet-of-things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and distributed-ledger technology.

Jonathan is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has extensive experience in all facets of patent procurement. He manages patent portfolios, both domestically and abroad, for clients ranging from emerging to large multinational companies. A cornerstone of Jonathan's practice is post-grant proceedings, where he enjoys a robust practice both challenging and defending patents before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, most commonly in coordination with litigation counsel amidst co-pending disputes.

As a full-service intellectual property attorney, Jonathan also routinely engages in a wide range of technology-related business transactions, including negotiating and drafting intellectual property license agreements and technology development/distribution agreements. His practice includes providing patent portfolio counseling, as well as conducting intellectual property due diligence and related counseling in the context of company acquisitions and financings.

Jonathan studied law at Harvard Law School where he was an editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology. During all three years of law school, Jonathan served as a teaching fellow for the Berkman Center for Internet and Society and thought leader for cutting edge law and technology policy initiatives. Jonathan's undergraduate work was completed in the College of Engineering at the University of Florida, where he graduated, summa cum laude, B.S.E.E. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
