L. Graeme Bell, III is a retired partner of the Washington, D.C. office of Crowell & Moring and was a founding member of the firm. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1966 and Harvard Law School in 1969.

Prior to joining the predecessor of Crowell & Moring in 1974, Graeme was an assistant professor of law at Catholic University Law School, where he taught in the area of contracts. From 1998-2000, Graeme was an adjunct professor at Roger Williams Law School in Bristol, Rhode Island, teaching Government procurement law. Graeme practiced procurement law for many years, focusing on contract claims, termination issues, and civil False Claims Act litigation.

During his career, Graeme shifted his professional focus to being a mediator, principally of commercial disputes. Graeme was trained as a mediator by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and was an active mediator in that court's alternate dispute resolution program. He conducted numerous mock mediation training exercises for the U.S. Department of Justice and other government agencies.
