Lily C. Geyer is an International Dispute Resolution associate in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office. Lily’s experience primarily includes providing advice and counsel concerning construction contracts and in litigating disputes surrounding major infrastructure projects. She has advised and assisted clients with challenges related to complex international transportation and energy projects. She has years of experience working alongside leading international technical, delay, and quantum experts.

Lily also has experience defending domestic and international clients against criminal and civil investigations pursued by the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.

Prior to beginning her legal career, Lily served as an intelligence analyst and air defense artillery officer in the U.S. Army. Lily currently serves as a judge advocate in the U.S. Army Reserve. She has received the Army Achievement Medal (5th award) and the Army Commendation Medal (5th award), amongst other awards. During law school, Lily worked as a defense contractor for a prominent think tank in Arlington, VA, where she advised clients on topics related to military personnel and equipment readiness.

  • Represented international airline in an arbitration of a multibillion-dollar dispute concerning a consultant’s breach of contract and negligent performance of an engineering and construction contract.
  • Represented construction contractor in a dispute involving delay, pricing, and change issues for a nuclear energy infrastructure project.
  • Provided advice and counsel to international construction companies facing force majeure challenges during COVID-19.
  • Assisted construction project counsel with dispute concerning a multimillion-dollar renovation of a government embassy in Washington, D.C.
  • Represented major energy company under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Represented multiple international financial institutions undergoing U.S. government investigations into alleged violations of U.S. sanctions laws.
  • Represented international manufacturing company in commercial litigation regarding non-compete agreements.
  • Represented international telecommunications company in commercial litigation regarding fraud allegations.
  • Represented domestic corporation in commercial litigation concerning the development of residential housing.
  • Represented domestic corporation in civil litigation concerning the corporation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
