Lydia Taylor is a counsel in Crowell & Moring’s Energy Group in the firm’s London office. She works across a variety of infrastructure projects, including in the energy, renewables, waste, social infrastructure, and transportation sectors.

Lydia regularly advises investors, funders, public sector bodies, and contractors on all types of project contracts. Lydia also has substantial experience with operational PPP/PFI projects and secondary market transactions, advising clients on key risks and efficiencies, as well as on a diverse range of complex operational issues.

Representative Matters

  • Advising on the development and construction of a major hydrogen power facility in the United Kingdom.
  • Advising a construction contractor on the build and ongoing maintenance of a series of solar projects in the East of England.
  • Advising a U.K.-based infrastructure fund on the acquisition and ongoing operation and maintenance of a water treatment facility in North Carolina.
  • Advising energy infrastructure funds and developer clients on the delivery and funding of various renewable energy facilities (including RDF-based waste to energy facilities, CHP, and biomass installations).
  • Advising a joint venture on the development, finance, and construction of a £250 million waste processing facility.
  • Advising on a range of secondary market transactions including in the energy, student accommodation, and transportation sectors.
  • Advising investor clients on a wide range of complex operational issues including sub-contractor interface disputes, liquidated damages claims, defects liability, credit defaults, and associated settlement deals.
  • Advising contractor clients on complex defects matters.
  • Advising on a number of substantial variations to operational projects, including in relation to risk profile and transfer, and updated security requirements.
  • Advising replacement contractors, project companies, and investor clients on issues of the day, including post-Grenfell and the Carillion liquidation.
