Mariam Sarwar is an associate in the firm’s Litigation and Mass Tort, Product, and Consumer Litigation groups. Her work encompasses litigation matters across a variety of industries, including higher education, medical devices, automotive, and construction. She has experience providing investigation and litigation issues analysis, assisting with copyright infringement matters, and with compliance issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Mariam served as a law clerk in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office’s Civil Litigation Department. She was also a research assistant at Loyola Law School on the use of survey evidence to prove consumer deception in U.S. state,  agency, and federal court proceedings. 

An active volunteer, Mariam has been involved with several organizations around the world, including assisting the elderly through the NGO “HelpAge International,” working in Indonesia with victims of the 2004 Asian tsunami, evaluating a mental health advocacy nonprofit’s mental health court program, and working as a teacher with the AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) program. She also authored an “NGO Parallel Report” on human rights violations in Slovakia for the United Nations’ periodic review of Slovakia’s adherence to the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights.

Mariam attended Loyola Law School, where she served as a senior production editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. She was a member of the Scott Moot Court Honors Board and the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society. She received her B.A. from Kalamazoo College.
