William A. Helvestine is a senior counsel in the San Francisco office of Crowell & Moring and is in the Health Care Group.

Bill concentrates on health care law, regulatory matters, and litigation. His healthcare experience spans all areas of managed care law, including regulatory, transactional, trials and arbitrations, antitrust, and class action matters. At the outset of Bill's career, he served as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (Hon. Thomas Flannery) and then for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (Hon. George MacKinnon). For over a decade, he served as a faculty member of the University of California Hastings College of Law, Center for Trial and Appellate Advocacy. During 1998-99, he served as a member of the California Commissioner of Corporations' Task Force on Medical Group Solvency, which led to the adoption of financial regulations for risk bearing health care organizations.
