Alexis Victoria DeBernardis is a senior counsel in the Washington, D.C. office. She is a member of the Antitrust & Competition Group, where her practice focuses on representing corporate clients in a wide range of antitrust issues, including information sharing, competitor interactions, competitor collaborations, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and issues related to the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. Her experience covers several industries, in particular, health care providers and payers, aerospace and defense, telecommunications, and financial services.

At the firm, Alexis is a steering committee member of the Women Attorneys' Network, an internal network dedicated to the promotion and advancement of women attorneys through a community platform and professional development opportunities.

  • Represented Humana before the Antitrust Division and in court in its attempted $37 billion transaction with Aetna and related litigation.
  • Represented a third party in the DOJ’s investigation and litigation of Aon's proposed acquisition of Willis Towers Watson.
  • Represented AT&T in connection with several transactions, including the acquisition of DIRECTV and TimeWarner.
  • Represented a Georgia health care system in obtaining FTC clearance of its merger with another system, including advising on compliance with the FTC’s second request.
  • Represented third party witness in the DOJ’s federal lawsuit to block the proposed Anthem-Cigna merger.
  • Represented United Technologies in connection with its $30 billion acquisition of Rockwell Collins.
  • Various counseling matters related to potential transactions and competitor collaborations.
  • Represented a third party in the private litigation regarding insulin pricing.
  • Represented Clean Harbors in connection with its acquisition of the industrial cleaning services division of Veolia North America.
  • Represented pharmacy benefit manager in connection with FTC investigation.
  • Represented Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, Commerzbank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and J.P. Morgan in connection with the formation of FXSpotStream LLC.
  • Representing health care payers and providers before the FTC and DOJ in connection with pending transactions and investigations.
  • Represented United Technologies in connection with its $16.5 billion acquisition of Goodrich.
  • Conducting client training on various antitrust best practices, including teaming arrangements, merger review, competitor communications, and compliance issues.
