Edward Norman is a counsel in the International Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property, and Insurance/Reinsurance groups at Crowell & Moring's London office. His practice incorporates both litigation and arbitration, and also the pursuit of antitrust claims.

Representative IDR Matters

  • Advising a client regarding the recognition and enforcement of a foreign arbitration award in the English courts.
  • Achieved an early settlement of a client's multi-million claim for monies due under a software services contract by means of an early Part 36 offer.
  • Represented a client in international arbitral proceedings concerning alleged breaches of an agency agreement in the oil and gas industry.
  • Advised a party to Part 20 proceedings regarding a follow-on claim in the English High Court for losses arising from anti-competitive behavior in the air cargo industry.
  • Defended a claim under LCIA rules arising from the distribution of proceeds following the sale of a high profile commercial asset.
  • Represented a client in Commercial Court proceedings concerning a substantial arrangement fee in the oil and gas industry.

Representative Insurance/Reinsurance Matters

  • Advising on various aviation insurance disputes including claims arising from ground handling agreements (such as the SGHA 2008) and aviation product liability claims.

Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Edward trained at an international law firm in its London office, during which time he spent six months on secondment at an insurance underwriting company operating in the Lloyd's Market. He graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in classics and studied law at BPP Law School.
